Late in 2019 I was talking with 4-ize about working through some archives of his music. While we were hanging out he let me play some beats. After hearing a few he said something along the lines of “this isn’t hip hop” and or “this sounds like doo doo”.

While that was certainly encouraging, we did land on something that was pretty new at the time, and it was the beat for this song.

Shouts out to my guy Smart Boy Beats who was the other producer on this track.

4-ize started pacing around the room and we put this one on repeat for a bit. He started mouthing stuff and looked at his dude that rolled up, pointing like “yo this is the one for that thing”.

Not long after that I get an email with a link to this song saying it was just about the last thing he needed to close out his upcoming album Look Into My Eyes.

Side note: I was aghast to find out what other producers ended up on this album. The likes of J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, 9th Wonder, Swizz Beatz, Illastrate, Floyd The Locsmif, D.R.U.G.S. Beats (:brainblown:) These are some of the biggest names in the game and people I’ve followed for a very long time. What a blessing!

It was not at all what I had expected, but when I saw the video it had me rolling.
