When I first moved from ‘being in bands’ to wanting to pursue producing I had already spent some time ‘in the box’ learning how to use Ableton. I had also been audio engineering and recording full bands for a while so I had some time in already.

This was one of the first beats I made when I decided to be a Producer/Artist.

Shouts out to additional producers David Carter (melodies and vibes) and Maestro Maliel aka BtZ (drums that slap) for the support.

Not only did we start this beat at 70 bpm (wth?), at some point while copy/pasting and trying to finish the track, the middle of the beat ended up in 3/4 timing. If you know anything about hip hop and rap, none of those things make any sense.

So I called in the only person that I knew could do vocals over this.

My guy DT aka Day Tripper from the renowned hip hop group Clan Destined.

Needless to say, he effortlessly nailed it.
